The Gold Miners Association of Zimbabwe, GMAZ, was founded in July 2004.
GMAZ is a representative body that brings together small to medium scale gold miners from right across the country.
It was re-launched on the 9th December 2013 after being dormant for a number of years.
Since then, several initiatives have resulted in fruitful consultative meetings with relevant arms of the government that include mines, finance, environment, and law enforcement agencies.
The Association is on a mission to become a coveted brand that champions economic empowerment through a mining revolution by its members who share the vision of 100% formalization of gold mining operations in the country. It places emphasis on the adoption of technologies and methodologies that yield comparative advantages of cost, efficiencies, effectiveness and productivity. Our grand-children should enjoy the dream of their ancestors! A proud history in the making!
